Does using lotion to style your hair damage it?

i remember seeing this tip on what not to wear but it only hit me just now that it might be damaging to your hair. i use it everyday to add some more curl to my hair b/c i thought that it would be less damaging than the curling mousse and curling gel that i use to keep my curls intact.

should i opt for a leave in conditioner or something more healthy for my hair to style it with or lotion okay to use? im using oil of olay b/c it doesn't leave a greasy residue

it doesn't , if anything it makes it healthier. use a leave in conditioner though because it makes your hair softer.
