I found a salonist recently who I thought was good but I came out of the relaxer yesterday with red scars all over my front hairline. Instead of leaving the relaxer in, she combed in the relaxer rather harshly and put it all around my forehead instead of vaselineé–³?and I think this is why my hair was/is breaking? and my skin burning. also she charged me quite a lot with a very bad/too short cut that I didn't want. I had a re-relaxer done in a different state and she charged me 1/2 the amt for the same amt of work, and my hair stayed healthy and long for a long period of time and my skin wasnt burned!....should I find another salonist? she told me i have to redo it every 4/6 weeks (the relaxer) or my hair will break off...i dont know if this is true or she wants the money. I think she also is killing the rest of my hair by putting in the relaxer all over instead of where I need the touchup?
If you do think I need to find a better salonist, how can I go about finding a good one?
Relaxing Hair Worries?
She sounds horrible. Ditch her and find a new one. Ask for referrals from anyone you know who has a great hair stylist.
Always ask for the price before you commit to getting your hair done. You can't say she overcharged just because it cost more than you're used to. She may have charged twice as much but it doesn't mean she's twice as good.
Lastly I've never heard of anyone telling a customer they should relax their hair often to prevent hair breakage. That sounds like absolute bull to me.
Relaxing Hair Worries?
They all say that you have to retouch the hair every 4-6 weeks. I think you need to find a better stylist ASAP. To find a good one. when you are at the mall or something and you see a lady with pretty healthy relaxed hair ask her where she gets it done. Most women are willing to share who does their hair. Good luck!
