What should I do to my hair if I hightlighted it a lot and it's blonde and dead?

I want my hair to be shiny, smooth and silky and healthy, but it's blonde from so much highlighting and blondes are naturally known to have more of a chance for hair to be dead than brunettes or redheads. I just wish my hair would be silky like everyone elses. And if i do anything for to my hair like dye it to a brownish, i think it would be even more damaged cause of the chemicals. I just wish it was pretty hair. Pretty, healthy, bouncy, shiny, smooth hair.

Use tons of conditioner and only shampoo your hair 3 times a week max.

Yea I had the same problem. Try using REDKEN, its a really good brand to help manage the damaged hair. Don't use store bought stuff on your hair, that stuff sucks the moisture out and replaces it with wax which makes your hair seem smooth after you condition it, but only ends up damaging it in the end.

And you might want to try dying your hair darker, that will make it look healthier right away, your hair will soak up the color.

Good luck.

you need to stop dying it for a while and let your natural color come back. Also to get it renourised you need to get the nourishing shampoo that has vitamins for your hair.

Go to a good salon. I did the same thing to my hair when I was younger. The salon I went to was known for hair coloring. They were really good at it. They put low lights in my hair, trimmed it and conditioned it. It looked much better, and I only had to go there once every three months. I never colored my hair by myself after that. I had long hair, over my shoulders, and they kept it in good condition.

Good conditioning treatment from hair salon or Sally's Beauty Supply to use once a week or so. Also "Beyond The Zone Smooth Shot" on your hair before you blow dry. It's a Sally's or another Beauty supply place.

You need to give your hair a break! Try not to do any chemicals to your hair for a while so your hair has a chance to repair itself. You need to keep up with getting your hair trimmed at least once every 6-8 weeks. This way you are keeping those dry ends off and helping from breakage and split ends. Also conditioning treatments are the best way to put moisture back into your hair. If your hair is really bad try to do them as often as you can. Alot of salons offer them, and they are not that expensive. Stay away from store bought brands of shampoo and conditioner. Mostly all they do is leave that wax build up on your hair and make things worse for you. Biolage is a good brand to use. If you do the things that I mentioned it will just be a matter of time then for your hair to gradually get healthier again.
