Why does some hair tangle easily and how do you fix it?

I have very healthy, shiny hair that normally doesn't give me any problems, except it knots really easily and always has, even when I was little. What causes this and how can I get it to stop without oiling up my hair or damaging my hair too much?

i would try to use a leave in conditioner when you are working through the knots. and when you do get therough the nots work from the bottom to the top dont just yank your brush through your hair

my hair did that when i was a little kid. is ur hair long? if it is i suggest cutting it short. but not TOO short. it worked for me. hope this helps!
